My BEST source for intermittent fasting is Dr. Fung’s Complete Guide to Fasting. I highly recommend this book as it has helped me so much – hello younger skin & less droopy arms! Here’s what I ate in my six hour eating window:

*Preplan: I usually prepare the food for my family. Knowing I’m going to be making my son’s breakfast, lunch and dinner takes some planning while I fast. I try to do meal prep when I’m in an eating window for my family so I don’t get triggered or get hunger pains. Knowing my schedule for fasting vs my family’s schedule for meal prep and meal times has greatly helped. Today I didn’t have the opportunity to make my son’s food during my eating window, but I usually try to.
*Sleep: Your body will most likely require more sleep when fasting, at least mine did. Intermittent fasting is a shock to the system and needs rest. Even with an enriched schedule, sleep is mandatory with fasting. I would encourage you to carve out more time to sleep and nap while starting to fast.
